D. James Riggi, President and Chief Executive Officer

President and Chief Executive Officer: Jim has over 25 years of experience in software engineering and managing computer systems, including National Prescription Administrators, Inc. where he served from 1985 through 1996 as the Vice President of Information Services and chief software architect.  After serving as the Chief Technology Officer for National Diagnostics in Charlotte and providing consulting services for a Charlotte ophthalmologist, Jim formed Medflow, Inc. in 1999 to focus exclusively on EHR for ophthalmology.  Since 1999, Jim has spent over 20,000 hours in the clinic with eye care physicians to design and refine the Medflow software exclusively for eye care.
 
Ippolit C. A. Matjucha, M.D., Medical Director
 
Medical Director: After completing his Harvard College education A.B. cum laude in Biochemical Sciences, Dr. Matjucha completed the Dartmouth-Brown Program in Medicine with preclinical studies at Dartmouth Medical School and clinical training at Brown University, graduating with an "outstanding" designation. Dr. Matjucha interned at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton-Lower Falls, MA, completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center, and went on to fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology at the California-Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Most recently, Dr. Matjucha was the Senior Staff Physician at the Lahey Clinic, in Burlington and Peabody Massachusetts, in the Department of Ophthalmology, supporting all aspects of neuro-ophthalmology, general ophthalmology and cataract surgery, in-patient consultation service and residential surgical training. He has been a practicing Neuro-Ophthalmologist for over 17 years.

 

Dr. Matjucha played in integral role in the decision and preparation for Lahey to implement the Medflow EHR into their practice. He will be instrumental in defining our eye care specific content and will also perform oversight for all software development and clinical procedures. Dr. Matjucha will be based out of Boston, MA.

 
Jim Messier, V.P. of Sales and Marketing
 
Vice President of Sales and Marketing:  Jim is a tech-savvy, seasoned professional with twenty-five years of high-level corporate experience in information technology consulting, strategic sales and marketing in the eye care marketplace. Working in the field since 1992, Jim is a pioneer in the field of EHR for ophthalmology. Jim was the President, co-founder and co-owner of ifa Systems, Inc. which brought its first eye care specific EHR product to the market in 1994. From January 2002 through September 2006, Jim was the Vice President of eye care products for NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc.  Jim joined Medflow in 2006 to lead the sales and marketing effort for the company.
 
Dorothy Scott, Director of Project Management and Training Services
 
Director of Project Management and Training Services:  Dorothy comes from a strong Project Management background of 15 years and has over 18 years of experience in healthcare and banking. Most recently, Dorothy worked as Novant Health's Project Manager and functioned as the Technical Coordinator, implementing a new enterprise Practice Management System (PMS) / Electronic Health Record (EHR) for over 200 regional Novant Health Physician Clinics. Dorothy plays a key role in Medflow's implementation process, ensuring communication filters to the project management team for seamless integration into Medflow client sites.
 
Mike Christman, Director of Software Development
 
Director of Software Development:  Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Science from The Ohio State University College of Engineering. For the past six years, Mike held the position of Senior Software Engineer for Medflow. He has a thorough knowledge of how the Medflow software is written, the technologies behind it and the way it is customized to meet the client's needs.
 
Stephanie McGarvey, Quality Assurance Analyst
 
Quality Assurance Analyst:  Stephanie has worked in the eye care field for the past eight years and has been a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant for six of those years. She started working for Medflow as an EHR Clinical Trainer in January 2006. Her position includes approving the completion of software installation, testing and system integration phases of implementation as well as monitoring program performance with the addition of new features and release of new software versions. Stephanie has an extensive knowledge of the software and an in-depth understanding of the implementation process.
